Marion seniors plan to host the annual Senior Citizens of Marion County meeting at the center Thursday. The Marion High School singers will perform and Wanda Williams will play the piano during registration.
LaVaughn Klose and Valera Morgan brought birthday treats for their special days, Oct. 6 and Oct. 10, respectively.
Seniors observed Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work Day Oct. 10. Shirley Bowers played “The Teddy Bears’ Picnic” on the piano while participants marched with their bears. The next opportunity for fun with bears is Nov. 14.
Five sets of embroidered tea towels made by Marion seniors were sold to some yearly visitors from Tennesse.
Ralph and Phyllis Kreutziger talked about their experiences as Red Cross disaster volunteers. They were in Maine and Vermont recently after hurricane Irene.
Program plans for Oct. 26 include a presentation by an insurance adviser from Salina.
