Groundhog Day is coming soon, and more of this mild winter weather would be acceptable. It has helped to bring in nice crowds to the senior center most days.

Senior center patrons had treats on Jan. 23 to celebrate Darrell and Beulah Weigart’s 63rd wedding anniversary. Their daughter, Julie Neuwirth, was present to celebrate her birthday also.

The center welcomed residents of Hilltop Manor for lunch Jan. 25. Ted Hayes of the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in Newton gave the program. He talked about well-known Kansas athletes and the work ethic that helped them excel in sports.

The program Feb. 8 will be given by Midwest Hearing.
