Seniors see musical in Wichita

Marion Senior Center took a van to Crown Uptown Dinner Theatre in Wichita to see “A Chorus Line” June 21. Those making the trip included Flo Rahn and Irene Bezdek, Hillsboro; Maxine Barton Lincolnville; Mary Costello, Bettie Batt, Carolyn Woerz, Betty Crumrine, Dorothy Youk, Joyce Smith, Wilma Nice, and Janet Bryant, Marion. Shirley Moore was the driver.
The group stopped at Braum’s in Newton on the way home.
The center plans on sending a group to “Sweeney Todd” in September and “White Christmas” later.
Vivian Conyers celebrated her birthday June 26 at the center. Volunteers for a newsletter mailing were Wanda Hamm, Nora Richter, Jane Makovec, Elsie Reiswig, Norma Woerz, Fred Puttroff, Evelyn Jewett, Al and Gloria Ash, and Shirley Moore.
Hilltop Manor residents ate at the center June 27.
Paintings of flowers by Tillie Schafers and Madonna Schafers is on display.
The June 27 program was given by Ginny Lind, playing well-known songs on her flute, accompanied by Shirley Bowers.
Lenore Dieter will give a program July 11.

Thursday — Baked ham, baked potato, carrots, fruit cup, whole-wheat rolls.
Friday — Pork chops, potato wedges, green beans, strawberries with topping, whole-wheat rolls.
Monday — Salisbury steak, boiled potatoes, spinach, pineapple, whole-wheat rolls.
Tuesday — Barbecue chicken, potato salad, mixed vegetables, melon cup, whole-wheat rolls.
July 11 — Lasagna, Italian blend, breadstick, applesauce.
