Thanksgiving reminds us of all the volunteers at Marion Senior Center for who we’re thankful. These include our meals on wheels drivers, dining room volunteers, pianists, and daily hosts.

Barb Smith is coming to the center Thursday to assist people with prescription drug plans.

Marilyn Geis celebrated her birthday on Nov. 19.

The center also celebrated Mickey Mouse’s birthday that day. He was created November 1928. Shirley Bowers and Janet Bryant shared their collections of Mickey Mouse items. Dorothy Conyers wore a Mickey Mouse watch on each wrist plus other jewelry. In the kitchen, Barb Bitner wore ears and mouse whiskers. Participants than sang the official song.

Senior Center Day was on Nov. 21. After lunch we had a short program consisting of traditional thanksgiving songs, a solo “If Ever I Would Leave You” by Dean Osborn, and a story “The Night Before Thanksgiving” read by Janet Bryant.

On Dec. 5, the center will have a Christmas Carol sing-along.
