With four snow days in February, the center had to catch up on birthdays. Evelyn Obermeyer brought treats on March 1, Rhonda Brenzikofer on March 4, and the head cook, Kathy West, on March 5. She made hanky pankies, (pumpernickel bread with a savory beef topping).

The Walk Kansas team has been dubbed the Senior Center Sensations. They accepted the challenge to walk 846 miles across Kansas and back. Team members are Caleb Abbott, Jerry Kline, Sue Clough, Rhonda Brenzikofer, Shirley Bowers, and Janet Bryant, captain.

“Looking Back” was the program on March 6, presented by Norma Kline, Jean Pierce, and Joan Meyer. Norma told about the Victorian house she lives in. Jean and Joan, who have been friends since first grade in Marion, remembered places and events.

Senior Center Day is March 13. Wanda Williams’ piano students will present a program.
