Hilltop residents visit senior center

Marion Senior Center correspondent

Residents of Hilltop Manor came for lunch May 29, for a nice crowd. The program was by Robert Clark of Schowalter Villa in Hesston. He played music from the 20s, 30s, and 40s while the crowd sang along.

Fresh flowers are brightening the center with color and fragrance. Lanell Hett brought roses and Roger and Lucille Bitner brought irises in a unique liquid soap container.

Joan Meyer celebrated her birthday May 23 at the center.

In preparation for Memorial Day on May 24, seniors heard about the origin of “Taps” and then sang all three verses. Connie Fisher was the song leader and Shirley Bowers played the piano.

On June 12, Gayla Ratzlaff will share the results of her recent survey of Marion Senior Center participants.
