Marlys Voran

Marlys Mae Voran, 80, of Goessel, died March 21 at Bethesda Home, Goessel.

Born March 25, 1929, in McPherson County, to Peter E. and Anna (Graber) Kaufman, she graduated from McPherson High School in 1947.

She was a homemaker, bank teller, nurse’s aide, and secretary, and a member of First Mennonite Church of McPherson.

She married Ted R. Voran June 8, 1952, at Bethany Mennonite Church, Kingman. He died April 19, 2005. Two brothers, Victor and Kenneth Kaufman, also preceded her.

Survivors include three sons, Gene of Hutchinson, Kent of Stillwater, Minn., and Randal of McPherson; a daughter, Denise Goertzen of Goessel; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Mennonite Church, McPherson, with the Rev. Kathy Neufeld Dunn officiating.

Graveside serves will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hopefield Mennonite Cemetery, rural Moundridge.

Memorial funds have been established with First Mennonite Church of McPherson and Mennonite Central Committee and may be sent in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W Euclid St, McPherson KS 67460.
