Mary Wallace

Graveside services for Mary Elizabeth (Grosse) Wallace will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.

She died Sunday at Legacy Park Nursing Home, Peabody.

Born April 2, 1916, in Marion to Charles Roger and Estella Opal (Braley) Grosse, she graduated from Marion High School in 1934 and St. Francis School of Nursing, Wichita, in 1938.

She married Delbert Wallace on April 23, 1939 in Marion. They had a son, Delbert Dean Wallace, born June 27, 1943.

The family lived on a farm west of Peabody until 1952, then moved to town. They loved to travel and enjoyed spending winters in Texas in a travel trailer.

Her husband died in 1974; her son, in 2003. Brothers Kenneth “Bus” Grosse and Tom Grosse also preceded her in death.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The Reverend Marilyn Cox will officiate at the graveside service.

A memorial has been established with Legacy Park.
