Maxine Mueller

Maxine I. Mueller, 90, of Tampa, died Thursday at Hillsboro Community Hospital.

Born Feb. 20, 1921, at Abilene, to Frank and Wauneita Medley Haynes, she was a graduate of Tampa High School.

On December 20, 1943, she married Werner Mueller. They made their home near Tampa, where she was a dairy farmwife.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister Modene Karl and a daughter-in-law Nancy Kay Mueller.

She is survived by her sons Michael of Olathe, James of Wichita, Richard of Mentor, Edward of Salina, Alan of Assaria, and Donald and Ronald of Tampa; daughter Nancy Hawkes of Salina; siblings Vergil Haynes of Downey, CA, Doris Williamson of Alexandria, La., LaVella Chrisman of Houston, Jean Riffel of Salina, Donna Longenecker of Abilene, Yvonne Sexton of New Cambria, Wanda Byrns of Canton, and Connie Williamson of Meade, Colo.; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tampa. Interment will be in North Tampa Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for St. John’s Lutheran Church in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm Street, Marion, KS, 66861.
