Connie Mellies of Silver Lake and Ron and Leona Hajek of Lost Springs announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Jenifer Mellies and Brett Hajek.

Grandparents of the bride-elect are Allen and Dorothy Raub and Dwaine Mellies and the late Glenda Mellies.

Her fiancé’s grandparents are Mildred Hajek of Marion and the late Albert Hajek and the late Robert and Josephine Richmond.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Silver Lake High School and attends Wichita State University, studying physical therapy. She is employed at Kidron Bethel Retirement Village, Newton.

Her fiancé graduated from Centre High School in 1999 and Salina Area Technical School in 2001, in diesel technology. He is employed by Bob Bergkamp Inc. of Wichita.

A wedding is planned May 30 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Pilsen.
