MES talent show a success

On Thursday, Marion Elementary School held a school-wide talent show before the annual Halloween costume parade.
The opening act for the talent show was Marion Police Chief Josh Whitwell and the Warrior Kids of Marion who gave trick-or-treating tips to the students.
Two performers represented each grade, except first grade, which had three performers.
Kindergarten: Miles Olson danced to “I Ain’t Got No Rhythm” and Karlee Ferthrow sang the song “True Blue Bell.”
First grade: Cameron Kimbrough performed gymnastics; Seth Lanning performed a magic trick; and Tristan Williams, Keighlee Armstrong, and Chisholm Waner sang the song “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.”
Second grade: Luke Lanning performed a magic trick and Chloe Burkholder and Grace Overton danced to “Party in the USA.”
Third grade: Samantha Kelsey and McKenna White read the partner poem “The Princess and the Pea,” and Corrina Crabb and Elizabeth Schaefer sang, “Look Me in the Eye.”
Fourth grade: Cooper Garman performed to “The Ripstik Zone” and Riley Hake and Janson Garman danced to “Swing.”
Fifth grade: Tori Boyd sang “Open the Eyes of my Heart, Lord” and Tyler Arocha played “Enter Sandman” and “Master of Puppets” on his electric guitar.
Sixth grade: Shyla Harris sang my “Heart Will Go On” and Sammy Ratzloff, Brittany Hett, Alli Boyd, and Bailey Robson sang “Falling for You.”
