MHS earns second in Quest

A team from Marion High School received the second place trophy in the 3A classification at Quest Super Saturday on Dec. 4 at Washburn University, Topeka.

They were one of 58 teams that competed.

Marion High School team members were seniors Patrick Hodson and Derek Stuchlik; junior Caroline Collett; and sophomore Isaac Baldwin. Coach was Doug Vogel.

The contest allows teams of high school students from across Kansas to compete against one another in answering questions on topics such as art, literature, history, math, and science.

Teams earning the top 16 scores advanced to the finals and will return to Topeka several times for taping sessions. The televised Quest competition will air on KTWU February through May, when the championship team will be named.

The contest is co-sponsored by KTWU-PBS station and Washburn University. The Kansas National Education Association and Quest Resource Corporation are partial underwriters of Quest tapings.
