MHS FFA attends national convention in Indianapolis

Marion High School FFA members attended the 82nd FFA National Convention Oct. 21 to 24 in Indianapolis, along with more than 50,000 other members from across the United States.

The theme of the convention was “Lead Out Loud.” Members saw national winners receive awards and listened to speeches from retiring FFA national officers.

“Dirty Jobs” host Mike Rowe, paralympic ski racer Josh Sundquist, and motivational speaker Harvey Alston presented keynote speeches.

Members visited with potential employers and colleges at the FFA Career Show, which featured more than 1,300 exhibitors.

Chapter members toured the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and National FFA Center.

Members attending were Jacob Cope, Derrick Dvorak, Louis Holt, Aaron Molleker, Evan Slater, and Jared Vondenkamp. Sponsor Mark Meyer accompanied the students.
