Marion High School forensics team placed fourth out of 17 Saturday at Council Grove.
Caroline Collett placed first in prose and third in poetry. Landon Leiker placed first in informative speaking. Kristen Geis earned third place in informative speaking. Dylan Goebel placed fifth in extemporaneous speaking. Goebel and Alex Eurit placed sixth in duet acting.
Four team members qualified at previous tournaments for state championships.
Brady Hudson placed first in prose Jan. 30 at Smoky Valley.
Sarah Guetersloh placed first in solo humorous acting, Annie Whitaker placed first in prose, and Collett placed second in prose, Feb. 6 at Northern Heights.
MHS hosted the Marion Invitational Forensics Tournament Thursday. El Dorado won, while Circle and Moundridge placed second and third, respectively.
