The Marion High School Warriors placed third among six teams in the Heart of America Tournament at Moundridge on Saturday.
The Warriors began with losses to Moundridge and Trinity Hutchinson before winning three straight against Remington, Sedgwick, and Ell-Saline.
There was a clear cut order in the finish of the teams, as Moundridge went undefeated, Trinity Hutchinson beat every team except Moundridge, Marion beat every team except the two top teams, Remington beat only the bottom two teams, and Sedgwick beat only Ell-Saline, who went winless.
The Sub State Tournament will be Saturday at Hillsboro High School, with games beginning at 2 p.m. The tournament will be a single elimination bracket with seven other teams: Beloit, Ellsworth, Gypsum-Southeast of Saline, Hillsboro, Lyons, Minneapolis, Sterling.
Marion will find out today which team it plays first.
