Marion High School Choir received a I rating April 14 at the State Large Group Music Festival at Lindsborg.

Under the direction of David Clark, the choir performed “Festival Sanctus,” by John Leavitt and “Psalm 23,” by Paul Basler with Landon Leiker playing a flugelhorn solo.

MHS music students performed April 10 at the Solo and Small Group Regional Music Festival at Tabor College in Hillsboro.

Those receiving a I rating for their vocal performances were Caroline Collett, Melissa Carlson, Landon Leiker, Jennifer Fruechting, Monica Spachek, and Isaac Baldwin; flute, Nicole Herzet and Beth Nesser; clarinet, Fruechting; saxophone, Spachek; trumpet, Leiker; men’s ensemble; girls’ ensemble; and MHS Singers.

II rating: vocalist, JayDee Schafers; tuba, Spencer Fugitt; and oboe, Sarah Eurit.

III rating: trumpet, Dylan Goebel.

Vocal students are under the direction of Clark.
