MHS wrestling team places second

The Marion High School Warrior wrestling team took second place Saturday at the Hesston Invitational meet in Hesston.

Nine of 10 wrestlers who competed for Marion finished in the top four in their weight categories.

Brody Carroll remains undefeated for the year, capturing first in the 138-pound class. Evan Slater scored the other Warrior first in the 220-pound class.

Second-place finishes went to Cole Lewman at 152 pounds, Kyle Palic at 170, and Colten Johnson, who lost in overtime in the 160-pound division.

Zac Lewman finished third in the 182-pound class, and Eric Regnier placed third at 120 pounds.

Fourth-place honors were earned by Beretta Janzen in the 106-pound division, and Brayden Putter in the 132-pound class.

Marion wrestlers will be in action again Friday when they participate in the Marion County Winter Duals, with matches beginning at 3 p.m. in both Marion and Hillsboro.
