Marion Middle School track and field athletes Jack Schneider and Corbin Wheeler combined to break four school records Thursday at a home meet.
Schneider broke his own record in long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 11 inches. He also broke the school record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.34 seconds and in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.61. Both sprinting records had stood for more than 30 years.
Wheeler pole vaulted 11’1” to break the previous record, which was set in 1996, by a single inch.
The Wildcats won all four divisions in the meet, boys’ seventh and eighth grade and girls’ seventh and eighth grade.
