Middle school athletes perform well in Trojan Invitational

The Hillsboro and Marion Middle School track teams competed in the Trojan Invitational Thursday in Hillsboro.

Hillsboro seventh-grade girls finished second out of five teams; Marion finished fifth.

Marion eighth-grade girls finished second; Hillsboro finished third.

Marion seventh-grade boys finished second; Hillsboro finished fourth.

Marion eighth-grade boys finished second; Hillsboro finished third.

Individual winners

Dallas Jost, of Hillsboro, finished first in seventh-grade pole vault.

Allison Weber, of Hillsboro, finished first in seventh-grade long jump.

Madison Klein, of Hillsboro, finished first in seventh-grade shot put.

Erin Wiebe, of Hillsboro, finished first in the eighth-grade 800-meter run.

Kaelyn Thierolf, of Marion, finished first in the eighth-grade 1600-meter run and 3200-meter run.

The Marion 4x200 eighth-grade relay team of Alyssa Edwards, Katey Ehrlich, Kelli Hess, and Megan Richmond finished first.

Hess won the eighth-grade pole vault.

Davion Ware, of Marion, won the seventh-grade 100-meter hurdles.

The Marion 4x200 seventh-grade boys relay team of Jacob Baldwin, Quinton Hett, Landon Pedersen, and Kyle Palic placed first.

The Marion seventh-grade 800 sprint medley team of Nathan Cyr, Raleigh Kroupa, Seth Snelling, and Brett Voth placed first.

Ware won the seventh-grade high jump.

Kyle Palic, of Marion, won the seventh-grade pole vault.

Landon Pederson, of Marion, won the seventh-grade long jump.

James Jones, of Marion, won the eighth-grade 200.

Avery Franz, of Hillsboro, won the eighth-grade 800.

Taylor Heidebrecht, of Marion, won the eighth-grade 1600.

The Hillsboro eighth-grade 4x200 relay team of Scott Brazil, Jesse Brown, Ty Carey, and Clay Etheridge took first.
