MARION:   MMS football

The Marion Middle School volleyball B-team remained undefeated Thursday by defeating Halstead 25-13, 27-25.

Kaelyn Thierolf was the leading server for MMS, registering 15 points.

Whitney Christensen chipped in with eight points, Morgan Makovec had seven, and Erin Meierhoff, Megan Richmond, and Ericka Herzet each had three.

“The girls continue to play well,” coach Deanna Thierolf said.

The A-team dropped its record to 3-3 on the season with a tough, three-game loss to the Dragons.

The Wildcats fell 13-25, 25-17, 13-25.

“We had a tough time getting a rally going,” Coach Thierolf said. “We just couldn’t seem to get our serves in-bounds.”

Montana Percell recorded nine serving points in game two, and Briana Hall contributed seven.

Both C-teams dropped their games.

The eighth grade team lost 25-15 and 25-20.

Top servers were Alyssa Edwards with four points, and Cara Martin and Karly Hess with two.

The seventh grade C-team lost in three games, 11-25, 25-10, and 3-15.

Abbey Smith had six points, Cheyenne Jeffrey four, and Amanda Stuchlik five.
