Marion Middle School girls’ basketball teams were 3-3 in their final six games played in November. All three remain at or above .500.

The Wildcats played Nov. 20 against Ellinwood and Nov. 24 against Hillsboro.

The A-team defeated Ellinwood 30-19, but fell to the Trojans, 34-14.

Against Ellinwood, Megan Richmond contributed with seven points, six steals, and three blocks, while Katey Ehrlich had eight points and six steals.

Kelli Hess chipped in with six points, while Montana Percell hit the glass with 12 rebounds, and Briana Hall had 10.

Erin Meierhoff was the Wildcats’ leading scorer against Hillsboro with four points and three rebounds.

Percell had two points and two rebounds, and Corey Shields had two points to go along with eight rebounds.

The split left MMS with a 2-2 record.

The B-team (3-1) struggled with Ellinwood in a 32-16 loss, but bounced back to defeat Hillsboro, 27-17.

JayDee Schafers had four points and nine rebounds against Ellinwood, while Balee Shiplet had four points and Ericka Herzet recorded six steals.

In the Hillsboro victory, Hess recorded a rare double-double with a team-high 14 points and 10 steals.

Shiplet chipped in with six points, and Schafers had eight rebounds.

It was a tough go for MMS C-team against Ellinwood, as Cassandra McPhail and Elizabeth Goentzel had the only two baskets in a 27-4 defeat.

However, the team bounced back from its first defeat to edge Hillsboro, 20-19.

Goentzel and Sarah Eurit were the team’s leading scorers with eight points each.

Eurit added nine rebounds, and Goentzel had four.

The C-team is now 3-1 on the season.

All three teams were at Remington Tuesday, but results were not available at press time.

The Wildcats will be at home Thursday to take on Hesston.
