The Marion Middle School eighth-grade scholars’ bowl team posted a 5-4 record to place third in the Heart of America League meet April 5 at Remington.
The Wildcats defeated Canton-Galva, 70-20; Inman, 70-40; Moundridge, 100-30; Remington, 70-60; and Sedgwick, 80-60. Their losses were against Ell Saline, 65-60; Bennington, 50-40; Berean Academy, 70-55; and Trinity, 80-45.
Kaylie Waner led the team in scoring with 430 points, followed by Quinton Hett, 100; and Braden Fahey, 30. Seventh-graders Remington Putter and Kayle Stapleford contributed 20 and 10 points, respectively.
The MMS seventh-grade team finished 2-7 in the meet. Their victories were against Ell Saline, 65-30; and Berean Academy, 60-50. They had losses against Inman, 60-25; Canton-Galva, 75-20; Moundridge, 70-65; Bennington, 50-20; Remington, 80-30; Sedgwick, 75-40; and Trinity, 70-35. Reann Hamm led the team in scoring with 190 points, followed by Elizabeth Meyer, 100; Austin Molleker, 50; Bailey Robson, 15; and Emily Schneider, 5.
