Centre’s Conner Montgomery tied the record on clean for the 123-weight class at the Kansas Eight Man Football Association state powerlifting meet Saturday at Central Plains High School in Claflin.
The boys’ power lifting team placed third.
Barrett Smith placed first overall in his class. He placed first in bench and third in squat.
Montgomery and Dakota Stimpson placed second overall in their weight classes. Montgomery placed first in clean, second in bench, and second in squat. Stimpson placed first in clean, third in bench, and sixth in squat.
Cole Srajer placed third overall in his weight class. He placed first in squat, fourth in bench, and sixth in clean.
Justin and Brendon Bina also competed.
In girls’ competition, Brenna Shields finished sixth overall in her weight class. She placed fourth in bench and squat.
