Myrtle E. Peterson, 94, of Burdick died March 19, 2012, at the Medicalodges of Herington. She was born Nov. 28, 1917, southwest of Burdick to Oscar P. and Anna Marie (Anderson) Carlson.

She was a retired school teacher, a member of Burdick United Methodist Church, and many church boards. She was a Conklin Products distributor for many years.

She married Lester R. Peterson on Aug. 15, 1943, at the Methodist church in Burdick. He preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1991. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lulu Woodruff, and her parents.

She is survived by one son, Dan Peterson of Burdick; one brother, Joyce Carlson of Lincolnville; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Burdick United Methodist Church with Jay J. Beck officiating. Burial will follow at Burdick Methodist Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.
