Nelson Funk

Nelson P. Funk, 75, of Hillsboro, died Aug. 25 at Salem Home, Hillsboro.

Born Sept. 13, 1933, in Hillsboro, to Arthur and Katherine (Pankratz) Funk, he was a farmer and carpenter.

He married Mary Jane Unruh Dec. 28, 1959, in Tampa.

He was a member of Trinity Mennonite Church and Kansas Blue Grass Association.

A son, Steven Ray, preceded him in death in1976.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane, of Hillsboro; a daughter, Denise White of Las Vegas; four brothers, Kenneth and Linferd of Hillsboro and Norman and Jim of Marion; a sister, Edith Unruh of Hillsboro; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with the Rev. Jeff Wintermore officiating.

Burial will be at Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.

The family will receive guests 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.

Memorial funds are with the church or Alzheimer’s Association.
