Members of Neo-Century Club heard plans for Marion’s sesquicentennial next year when they met Sept. 13 at Central Park, Marion.
Thirteen members attended to hear the sesquicentennial chairman Dick Varenhorst talk about the celebration.
President Lou Roberts led the group in the club collect and flag salute. Theodora Koslowsky was welcomed as a new member. Roll call was answered by revealing last year’s heart sisters and recalling school memories. Margaret Tice read, “Share the Gold,” for devotions. Minutes of the May meeting were read and approved. Donna Fruechting gave a treasurer’s report. Bills were approved. A thank you note was read from Norma Hannaford for a fruit plate given to her last spring. A letter from Betty May was read, requesting to be an associate member this year, which was accepted.
The next meeting will be Oct. 4 at Jan Davis’ art gallery.
