New satellite chiropractor office comes to Marion

Staff writer

A pair of chiropractors currently practicing in Hillsboro are preparing to open a satellite office in Marion.

Kodi Panzer and her associate, Kyler Clawson, expect to see patients in the Marion office Tuesdays through Friday.

The satellite clinic will make it easier for patients who travel longer distances to see them, Panzer said. The practice’s electronic records system will mean their records will be accessible at whichever office they choose.

Work on the building at 321 S. Third St. is underway.

Panzer said work to be done on the building includes cleaning, painting, laying new carpet, and converting a bathroom to be handicapped accessible.

When completed, the office will have a waiting room, business office, examination and treatment room, and a therapy bay containing equipment for different types of treatments.

Treatments the Marion clinic will offer include adjustments, electrical muscle stimulation, diathermy — application of heat to subcutaneous tissue — and lumbar flexion-distraction.

Lumbar flexion-distraction is a treatment not available elsewhere in the region, Panzer said.

“We’ll be able to offer that and nobody else in the area offers it,” Panzer said. “It’ll be just in Marion.”

Panzer has practiced in Hillsboro seven and a half years.

Clawson got his Kansas license in January. He grew up in Ellinwood, but has long been familiar with Marion because his mother lived in Lincolnville and Marion.

Panzer said the target date for opening the Marion clinic is summer.

While she’d been planning for a while now to expand her practice to Marion in 2017, she moved the date forward when Clawson came on board, Panzer said.

“We look forward to having the two clinics to better serve our patient base,” Panzer said.
