Norma Raccuglia

(Sept. 13, 1924, to eternity)

Norma L. (Skibbe) Raccuglia, daughter of Adolph and Lydia (Reh) Skibbe, was born on Sept. 13, 1924 in Hillsboro, Kan.

She peacefully passed away on Aug. 6, 2013, with her family by her side. Visitation was to be at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 14. Services follow at 11 a.m. at Overland Park Assembly of God, 7700 W. 75th St., Overland Park, Kan.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the National Parkinson’s Foundation. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Tony; her loving parents; and her beloved brother, Robert.

Norma is survived by her son, Gary, and his wife, Kathy; her daughter, Karen Rogers, and her husband, Chris; and her son, Jay, and his wife, Jan. She is also survived by her precious sister, Ruth Heiser. Norma so dearly loved her nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Norma was a serene, composed, and gracious woman who tried to brighten the corner for others throughout her entire life. She lived her faith every day — it was the core of her existence on this earth.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff of Good Samaritan Center in Olathe for their care giving over more than three years.

In one of her books, Norma wrote “God has been good to me. I had a wonderful husband that I loved with all my heart. Together we loved the Lord and had a good life. And the children that came of this marriage have made my life worth living. I know the Lord will be there to welcome me into Heaven and my dear husband of 58 years will be there to greet me and say ‘What took you so long, Dove?’”
