Nothing free about ‘free’ money

Marion Reservoir received $6 million while Marion County cuts their budget. We are proud to be neighbors to Marion Reservoir. Just like at home, it costs to maintain. Maintaining and slowly upgrading is all we can afford in these times. The present campgrounds were ample during the July 4 weekend. There were some vacant sites.

Let’s accept $1 million for a maintenance budget. The remaining $5 million should be declined.

We can really wonder if the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ever considered taking only what we need, as opposed to our wish list. If all entities are spending without considering the debt we are causing, we are doomed!
