Mistreatment of a dependent adult (taking advantage of finances) and theft of 592 gallons of gasoline with an estimated value of $2,062 was reported at 3:11 p.m. April 16 in the 500 block of E. Broadway St., Burns.

Damage to a lock and door frame with an estimated value of $500 was reported at 1:52 p.m. May 4 on Yarrow Rd. between 220th and 230th Rds.

Theft of four John Deere tractor weights with an estimated value of $1,224 was reported at 12:49 p.m. May 7 on 140th Rd. near Florence.

Battery

A woman in her ’20s reported that a man she did not know — who had harassed her in the past — assaulted her at her residence in the 300 block of N. Washington shortly after 12 a.m. Friday. Police stated that she had heard someone calling her name from outside her residence. When she went out to investigate, the man pushed her to the ground and fled.

Auto theft, damage to property

A man reported the theft of a 1991 Buick sedan from a driveway at his residence in the 200 block of S. Birch in Hillsboro between 12:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Friday morning. Police said the vehicle also struck a gas meter in the alley behind 203 S. Ash St. and a fence at the baseball field. The driver then returned the vehicle to Phillip’s driveway and fled. Police said that multiple charges are pending against a 14-year-old Hillsboro youth in connection with the crimes.
