According to offense reports released this past week:

SHERIFF’S

Theft

George Schutte, 71, Lehigh, reported that between 8 a.m. on Aug. 10 and 8 a.m. Nov. 10, a Heritage Rough Rider 22 cal. revolver and cloth holster, estimated at a $250 value, was stolen from a vehicle. No signs of forced entry were reported.

Domestic battery

An unspecified party reported that between 9:16 and 9:21 p.m. Nov. 3, Taylor Brown, 22, Lost Springs, received apparent minor injuries after an offender used a personal weapon against her. Police reports stated that the offender was suspected of using drugs/narcotics.

Hillsboro

Aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass

Donald K. Jackson, 46, of Hillsboro allegedly assaulted seven people with objects from his lawn at 4:13 p.m. Nov. 10 at 302 W. Third St.

No injuries were reported. Police indicated Jackson was had been using alcohol.

Jackson was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass.

Theft

Travis Shaw, 43, of Durham, reported that an unknown person stole an iPod, valued at $215, from the girls’ locker room at Hillsboro High School between 9:35 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. Thursday.

Theft

Riley Hoover, 18, of Hillsboro, reported the theft of medication while he was sleeping in a friend’s dormitory room at Tabor College between 11:40 a.m. and 2 p.m. Nov. 10. Police said the case is still under investigation, but a person of interest has been identified.

Marion

Driving on a suspended license, transporting an open container

Two people were arrested on alcohol related charges at 12:45 p.m. Nov. 6 in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St.

The official police report indicated that the driver initially was stopped for driving on a suspended driver’s license. Officer Mike Stone then searched the vehicle and discovered several open containers of alcohol.

The report also indicated the passenger had been observed traveling on city streets with an open container of alcohol.

Both vehicles’ occupants were arrested for transporting open containers. The driver also was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license.
