SHERIFF

Theft

James Bartel reported a Hastings 500 gallon stock tank valued at $200 was taken from the area of 250th and Eagle Rds. between 12 p.m. April 16 and 12 p.m. April 17.

Domestic battery

Lucas Dean Wann, 22, McPherson, reported a case of domestic battery on victim Harlie Osborne, McPherson, 21, at Hillsboro Cove, Hillsboro, between 9:34 p.m. and 9:56 p.m. April 16. Thomas Dean Wann and Nichole Yanacopois were reported witnesses.

Identity theft

Mike Meisinger, 43, Hillsboro reported identity theft from July 2015 to March, in which a suspect had allegedly obtained a credit account with a business. Police said the suspect allegedly charged merchandise to the account and did not pay, which caused Meisinger’s credit rating to be affected.

Identity theft

Keeley Kroeker, 19, Hillsboro, reported that her Social Security number had been used by another person between March 2000 and April 6.

Shoplifting

The Lumberyard, Inc. and Dollar General reported two adults and one juvenile as possible shoplifters between 5 p.m. and 5:25 p.m. April 19. Police said there was insufficient evidence to prosecute. All three individuals were banned from both stores. The Lumberyard reported one pair of work gloves valued at $13 as stolen.

Battery

A 13-year-old Hillsboro juvenile was taken into police protective custody and transported to a juvenile facility after allegedly grabbing a cell phone from a woman’s hand and throwing it against the wall when she attempted to call police at 5 p.m. April 13.

MArion

Burglary, theft, criminal damage to property

James Williams, 52, Marion, reported $550 of damage to three windows and screens and one wooden door at his residence between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. April 20 at 704 N. Cedar St.

Williams reported 22 Keystone Light beers, valued at $20, and one frozen pizza, valued at $5, were stolen.
