Old Settlers' Day draws crowd
Marion’s 101st annual Old Settlers’ Day was one of the best ever. The theme this year was “Marion City Library – Opening Books and Minds for 100 Years.”
Elaborate floats in the 50-minute long parade showcased the theme.
A large crowd filled the park, following the parade, for kids’ games, concert, and recognition of Marion High School alumni.
Thirteen MHS classes held 5-year reunions with activities held throughout the weekend. The class of 1947 was the earliest represented.
The MHS Class of ’82 sponsored a dance at the Marion County Lake Saturday evening featuring three bands.
