One day a week

To the editor:

I did some numbers on our Marion County economy. If every household in Marion County would spend $20 every Thursday at a local merchant, it would generate $3.38 million business money in one year. It would generate $236,600 sales tax revenue in one year — the fairest tax there is. Economists tell us the money you spend turns over seven times in your community and the above would benefit Marion County by $ 23.66 million in one year.

Mind you, these are for $20 spent one day a week for a year. Interesting, isn’t it.
