Orphan choir to perform

A choir of orphaned children, ages 6 to 12, from India and Ethiopia will present a free concert at 7 p.m. June 15 at the Performing Arts Center.

The choir, visiting Marion for the fourth time, is part of His Little Feet, a non-profit founded in 2009 to serve orphaned and vulnerable children worldwide.

The first choir, in 2010, consisted of children rescued after an earthquake in Haiti. Since then, children from China, Ethiopia, Haiti, Honduras, India, the United States and South Korea have participated in the choir, which has performed in more than 35 states.

In addition to performing, children attend an academy where they are taught academics, performing arts and life skills.

More information about the non-profit is available at http://www.hislittlefeet.org and (866) 252-3988.

The choir’s visit to Marion is being facilitated by pastor Josh Wesner of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Although the event will be free, an offering will be collected, and merchandise will be offered for sale.
