Patricia A. “Pat” Wetmore, 77, of Herington died March 16, 2012, at Marshalltown Medical Center in Marshalltown, Iowa.

She was born March 17, 1934, at Herington, to George M. and Gladys E. (Everett) Darner.

She graduated from Herington High School with the class of 1952 and received an associate’s degree from Brown Mackey at Salina. She began working for Mason Investment in Salina before returning to Herington. She was a teller at the Bank of Herington until she retired in 1999. She was also a secretary for the Herington schools before working at the bank. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and Anne’s Circle, Hospital Auxiliary, and Herington Country Club.

She married William Alan “Al” Wetmore on Feb. 28, 1954, at St. John’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by one son, Randy Wetmore of Marshalltown, Iowa; one grandson; and one granddaughter.

A Christian Mass will be 10 a.m. today at St. John’s Catholic Church, Herington, with the Rev. Mark Wesely officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Herington. A Rosary was Tuesday at the church. Visitation was Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel.
