Paul Lewis Atkins, 77, of Peabody died May 17, 2012.

He was born Aug. 20, 1934, to Clinton Edgar Atkins and Jessie Luella (Hess) Atkins in Peabody. He graduated from Emporia State University and served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired finishing carpenter.

Paul is survived by his sister, Marian Break, Marion; brother-in-law, Ernest Seibel, Whitewater; sister-in-law, Barbara Atkins, Kansas City, Kan.; five nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Jessie Atkins; sister, Maxine Seibel, Peabody; brothers, Richard Atkins, Newton, and William Atkins, Kansas City, Kan.

Graveside services were Monday at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial contributions may be made to the Peabody High School Alumni Scholarship Fund and the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of Baker Funeral Home, Peabody.
