Pedestrian arrested on drug charges

A Marion woman is back in jail after being free to roam the community for about a week.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. Saturday, officer Mike Stone allegedly observed Amy Park, 29, walking in the roadway in an unsafe manor on Main St. between Freeborn and Roosevelt Sts.

Park had previously been arrested on Sept. 19 on a bond revocation and was on Marion County Jail’s roster as of Oct. 14.

Stone indicated in his report that Park was suspected of being under the influence of drugs or narcotics.

After searching Park, he allegedly found two syringes and one spoon that allegedly had drug residue on them in Park’s possession.

Park was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia, and pedestrian under the influence.

Park also was the owner of a dilapidated and unsafe house at 118 W. Santa Fe. St. that was demolished recently per order of Marion City Council.

According to jail officials, Park was on the jail roster as of Monday.
