Phyllis Soyez

Phyllis Jean Lipps Soyez, 79, passed away May 7, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

She was born Nov. 6, 1936, to Harold and Mildred (Henninger) Lipps in Tampa.

Her father died in July 1941. Her mother married Richard G. Soyez in 1943, and Phyllis was adopted by Richard.

She attended Marion High School with the class of 1954.

In August 1953, she was married to Hilden Hayward. One son, Kevin, was born to the union.

Phyllis was a waitress and cook at many of the local restaurants throughout her lifetime.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Hayward of Marion; brothers, Harold and Judy Soyez of Grapevine, Texas; Richard D. Soyez and Robert and Brenda Soyez, all of Marion; uncle, Robert Smith of Marion; nephews, Eric, Jeff, Michel, and Chris Soyez; and niece, Brandi Williams.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
