Pianist brightens a rainy morning

Senior Center correspondent

On a rainy morning last week, regular diner Shirley Bowers, who loves to play piano and plays table grace every day, had residents sing “Let a Smile Be Your Umbrella” and “Singing in the Rain” from their song books. She also brought a vase of phlox to brighten the day.

Robin Nelson, who normally volunteers in the dining room every day, was away at camp for a week.

Head cook Kathy West observed her third anniversary on the job.

Bonnie Sawyer and Traci Waner from Marion Assisted Living presented a program June 11.

Terry Jones, director of economic development for the City of Marion, will speak June 25.
