Pipeline representatives to meet with commission

Representatives of TransCanada responsible for the Keystone Pipeline project will meet with Marion County Commission Monday to discuss road-crossing permits.

Commissioners scheduled time from 11:20 a.m. until noon for the meeting.

Striping on chip-sealed roads probably won’t be done until spring, Road and Bridge Superintendent John Summerville told commissioners on Monday. There is a chance it could be done before winter, but only if the weather becomes unseasonably warm, he said.

Cardie Oil Company, of Tampa, won bids to provide area and transport fuel to the road and bridge department.

The company bid $15,058 for 6,550 gallons of area fuel. Cooperative Grain and Supply, of Hillsboro, bid $15,156.

Cardie Oil Company bid $19,286 for 5,000 gallons of clear diesel, 1,000 gallons of dyed diesel, and 2,000 gallons of unleaded gasoline. Cooperative Grain and Supply bid $19,414.
