Plenty to see, do at Chingawass Days

Concerts and meals are some of the biggest attractions to Chingawassa Days, but there are plenty of other things to see and do at the festival, which is June 7 through 9 this year.

Competitions

For people with competitive streaks, there are plenty of activities on June 8, covering the entire spectrum of activity levels.

On the relaxing side is the heads-or-tails game at 11 a.m. at the gazebo. On the active end is the tug-of-war tournament at 1:15 p.m.

In between are the Rhino Run 5-kilometer race and 2-mile run/walk at 8 a.m., a horseshoe pitching tournament from 8 to 11 a.m., bed races at 9 a.m. on Main Street, the Dinky Duck race at 10 a.m. at the fountain, a mechanical bull from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., a blackout contest at 11:30 a.m. at the gazebo, Texas hold’em at noon, three-on-three basketball at 12:15 p.m., rock-paper-scissors at 12:30 p.m., a Rhino sculpting contest at 12:45 p.m., a texting contest at 1:30 p.m., bingo at 2:30 p.m., and arm wrestling at 3 p.m.
