ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

March 6 — A driver east of Hillsboro was warned for speeding. A suspicious vehicle was reported near Parkside Homes.

March 7 — Police talked to a manager at Oakwood Apartments about issues with tenants there. A resident complained about his brother. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 200 block of N. Washington St. A minor, noninjury accident on private property was reported.

March 8 — A possible scam was reported in the 400 block of N. Ash St. A report of reckless driving on US-56 could not be verified. Police heard another complaint from a resident about his brother.

Thursday — A catalytic converter was stolen off a work truck at Hillsboro Ford. A residence in the 200 block of N. Washington St. was checked at the owner’s request. A domestic issue was reported in the 400 block of N. Ash St.

Friday — A skunk was reported in a window well in the 100 block of Eisenhower St. A license plate was reported missing in the 200 block of N. Washington St. A person seeking medical attention already had reached Hillsboro Community Hospital when an officer arrived.

Sunday — An unspecified juvenile issue in the 300 block of N. Ash St. was investigated. Police attempted to check on a person in the 200 block of N. Washington St. but did not make contact.

MARION

Feb. 27 — Alarms at Family Dollar / Dollar Tree and at Central National Bank proved to be false. Police talked to residents about a civil issue and about a citation given by Hillsboro police.

Feb. 28 — A resident complained about noise at an undisclosed location. Property of an undisclosed nature was returned to a resident.

March 1 — Illegal passing of a stopped school bus was reported.

March 2 — Police and sheriff’s deputies dealt with an out-of-control juvenile near US-77 and 180th Rd.

March 3 — A possible crime of an undisclosed nature involving juveniles at Marion High School was investigated.

March 5 — No problems were found after several business owners were contacted about suspicious activity. A driving complaint was made in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St. Police intervened in a landlord-tenant issue in the 200 block of N. 4th St.

March 6 — A suspicious vehicle reported in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. was not located. A possible scam was discussed.

March 8 — Suspicious activity reported in the 200 block of N. 2nd St. was not located. A civil matter was discussed with a resident.

Friday — A possible theft was reported in the 400 block of Arbor St. A driver in the 600 block of E. Main St. was cited for going 34 mph in a 20-mph zone. Police discussed a civil issue with a resident.
