Nov. 7: Officers responded to a suspicious person in the park, took a report of a deer vs. car accident, provided a welfare check on several children, and did a follow up welfare check.

Nov. 8: Officers served municipal court subpoenas, responded to a report of a missing child; he was located at Marion Public Library a short time later OK. Officers responded to a possible structure fire and turned out to be smoke from a water cooler; and to a grass fire. Officers took a report of a possible child in need of care and took a report of a possible stalking. Officers transported an arrestee to the jail, and assisted Marion Sherriff’s Department on a suicidal subject call where a juvenile was arrested and later released back to parents for consuming alcohol, five other juveniles were cited for minor in consumption; two juveniles reported battery by the suicidal subject but refused to press charges. Additional charges are pending.

Nov. 9: Officers took a report of an abandoned vehicle at Casey’s General Store and located its owner, checked suspicious vehicle, responded to possible house fire; the fire turned out to be family having a cook out.

Nov. 10: Officers took a report of a possible prohibited dog breed and contacted the owner, checked three suspicious vehicles, one was a man who was out of money and gas, officer bought him gas and he left. Officers found signs of underage drinking while checking Central Park.

Nov. 11: Police assisted ambulance with a call and received a thank you visit from a resident thankful for the new four-way stops on Freeborn St.

Nov. 12: Police took a report of three children smoking, a suspicious vehicle, and a domestic argument. Officers assisted with a disruptive child at Oasis.

Nov. 13: Officers located a dog at large and contacted the owner, took reports of burglary, domestic assault, and aggravated sexual battery and sodomy. Police met a resident at Animal Health Center who found a lost dog, and took a report from a woman requesting more patrol around her home due to problems with her estranged husband.

Nov. 14: Police stopped on a vehicle because its stereo being too loud; situation escalated and ended with Jason Brewer, 18, of Marion arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct. Police assisted Hillsboro Police in locating three suspects wanted in connection with the attempted theft of 18 license plates from Tabor College. Police assisted the Sherriff’s Department with a broken down Marion school bus and conducted traffic control for the bus as it was towed back to Marion.

Nov. 15: Officers asked a resident to trim a tree after complaints received by the city, and provided a civil standby.

Nov. 16: Officers performed a welfare check, provided traffic control for a funeral, responded to a burn pit burning out of control, assisted the Sheriff’s Department with a domestic dispute, cited three juveniles with minors in consumption at Central park, and found a dog at large.

Nov. 17: Officers took a report of a confused and lost woman and assisted the Sheriff’s Department with a juvenile intake.

Nov. 18: Police picked up a dog at large and took to Animal Health Center, and took a report on a suspicious vehicle.

Nov. 19: Officers took a report of a possible stalker and spoke with the suspect, assisted the Sheriff’s Department with traffic control for vehicle on fire, located a stranded motorist reported missing by a friend, assisted an elderly female who had a bat in her home.

Nov. 20: Officers took a report of a bat in a house; the bat was removed without incident.
