Hillsboro police

April 27: Officers took a report of a reckless driver and assisted with a power outage in industrial park.

April 28: Police took reports of a vehicle with expired registration tags and addressed a report of an attempted phone scam. Officers also took a parking complaint.

April 29: Police responded to a report of a runaway juvenile who officers later located and returned home. Police also addressed a neighbor dispute and attended to a child welfare concern at the elementary school.

April 30: Officers responded to a report where a man said that someone might have entered his home while he was gone. Upon investigation, police found no one at the residence and the residence to be secure. Officers also took a noise complaint and a report from a man who had lost his prescription medications.

Thursday: Police responded to a report of stolen prescription medications. Later, the medications were located by police in Peabody. Officers also took a threat complaint and a noise complaint. Police also took a report of two reckless drivers on K-15 and a report of a suspicious person.

Friday: Officers took a request for a restraining and a report of a stolen bicycle.

Saturday: Police took a parking complaint, two dog complaints, and responded to a commercial alarm. Officers also received a report of a lost cell phone.

PEABODY POLICE

April 29: Officers provided an outside assist to Kansas Highway Patrol in Sedgwick County that resulted in felony charges stemming from a traffic accident. The subject was taken to Sedgwick County jail, charged with driving under the influence, hit and run, and fleeing and eluding.

April 30: Police took a protection from stalking information report. Anthony Buchanan, Peabody, was arrested on a Peabody Municipal Court warrant on a charge of failure to appear and was subsequently charged with possession of marijuana.

Thursday: Police arrested a juvenile on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and being a runaway. The arrest was a joint effort with the Hillsboro Police Department on a case of felony theft.

Friday: James Findley, rural Peabody, was arrested on a Marion County District Court warrant. Police worked a non-injury accident.

Saturday: Police took a report of an unattended 6-year-old child at Peabody City Park. The parent has been contacted. Police investigated a report of possible child abuse. The case has been turned over to Department of Children and Families for further investigation.

Sunday: Officers provided a courtesy report of a vehicle accident in the parking lot of Peabody Market.
