Hillsboro police

June 22: Police took reports of a tree fallen in a road at Memorial Park and blocking the 300 block of N. Lincoln St.

June 23: Police took reports of an abandoned vehicle in a ditch at C and Pine Sts., possible vandalism at the airport, and a dog complaint in the 200 block of E. First St., and returned lost property.

June 24: Police took a report of a person living in a tent in the 800 block of E. D St., someone sitting on a bridge on Indigo Rd., and debris left in a ditch at Pine and C Sts., and responded to a child custody dispute at 1st and Lincoln Sts. and a trespass complaint in the 400 block of S. Main St.

June 25: Police met with a person driving an unauthorized vehicle and responded to a trespass complaint in the 400 block of S. Main St.

Thursday: Police responded to a trespassing complaint in the 400 block of S. Main St. and a dog complaint in the 500 block of E. A St., and took a report of suspicious activity in the 300 block of S. Birch St.

Friday: Police took a report of an attempted mail scam, checked for possible stolen property in the 300 block of S. Birch St., issued a citation for parking on a yard, and took a dog complaint in the 400 block of W. B St.

Saturday: Police took a dog complaint in the 300 block of S. Date St. and responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 300 block of S. Main St.

PEABODY POLICE

June 23: Police recovered some property in the city limits that was reported stolen in a burglary and robbery case two years ago. Officers took three children into child-in-need-of-care custody. Charges of parental neglect are pending against the parents.

Thursday: Jeffrey Madsen of Peabody was arrested and charged with failure to appear on a Peabody Municipal Court warrant.

Saturday: Police took a report of suspicious activity at 608 E. Second St. Officers performed a welfare check on a baby and subsequently turned the investigation over to the Department of Children and Families.

Sunday: A report was taken from the driver of a car whose automobile window was broken by a rock thrown from a mower as an individual mowed his lawn.
