Hillsboro

Aug. 23 — A car window was broken in the 700 block of S. Ash. St. There was a dog complaint in Hillsboro Heights.

Aug. 24 — Shoplifting was reported in the 100 block of N. Ash St. A bicycle was reported stolen in the 400 block of S. Ash St. A license plate was taken from a vehicle in the 200 block of N. Ash St.

Aug. 25 — Trespass and parking complaints were investigated.

Aug. 26 — Attempted fraud was investigated in Hillsboro Heights. Harassing phone calls were investigated in the 900 block of E. C St.

Thursday — A runaway 15-year-old was investigated in the 300 block of E. Second St. The teen was later located. A report of a hitchhiker on US-56 was investigated.

Friday — A truck loaded with cowhides was investigated after reports that it was leaking blood in the 900 block of E. D St. A verbal argument was investigated in the 100 block of N. Jefferson St.

Saturday — A possible trespass was reported in the 200 block of W. B St.

Aug. 24 — Peabody Hardware and Lumber reported a case of criminal damage to property after broken windows were discovered when the store opened. The case is under investigation. Police took a report of a battery case and charges are pending.

Friday — Police were called to look for a missing child. The child was found and returned to his parents.

Saturday — Joshua Liotta was arrested and charged with speeding and expired license tags.

Sunday — Police were called to help find a missing three-year-old. The child was found riding his tricycle downtown and returned to his mother. Officers assisted Marion County Sheriff’s Department with the arrest of a person laying on the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe railroad tracks south of Peabody at 50th Rd. and Mustang Rd. A BNSF train had to make an emergency stop. Nicholas Pope, Wichita, was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing on railroad property.
