Hillsboro

Feb. 21 — A report of a possible theft in the 200 block of S. Birch St. revealed that a property owner was just moving property. An out-of-control juvenile in the 400 block of E. First St and a dog complaint in the 200 block of W. B St. were investigated.

Feb. 22 — A verbal dispute in the 100 block of S. Elm St. was investigated.

Feb. 23 — A report of a reckless driver on US-56, dog complaint in the 500 block of E. First St. and report of an attempted phone scam in the 300 block of Floral St. were investigated.

Feb. 24 — A report of an IRS phone scam was investigated. A report of a gas pump that was struck at Epp’s Service was investigated.

Thursday — A dog complaint in the 200 block of S. Birch St. was investigated.

Friday — A dog complaint in the 200 block of S. Ash St. and a commercial alarm in Hillsboro Heights were investigated.

Feb. 22 — Two nuisance property letters were served. An out-of-control juvenile was investigated. A dog-at-large was captured and returned to its owner.

Feb. 23 — Two dogs-at-large were captured in the 500 block of Locust St. and returned to their owner. A nuisance property letter was delivered. A complaint of an inoperable vehicle in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St. was investigated.

Feb. 24 — A harassment complaint and a protection from abuse order violation were investigated. A delayed accident report from Feb. 22 was investigated, but no accident report was needed.

Thursday — Debris was removed from the roadway in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt. An out-of-control juvenile was investigated. Two verbal warnings for vehicles with no tag lights were issued. A non-injury accident that involved a motorist hitting a gas meter in the 600 block of E. Lawrence St. was investigated.

Friday — Complaints of reckless driving in school zones were investigated. A report of a criminal threat that happened in another jurisdiction was passed on to the correct agency. A verbal warning for reckless driving and driving against restriction was issued near US-56 and Ridge Rd. A verbal warning for speeding also was issued near US-56 and Eisenhower Rd.

Saturday — Three verbal warnings for no tag light and one verbal warning for speeding were issued.

Sunday — A verbal warning for no tag light was issued near US-56 and Cedar St.

Peabody

Feb. 22 — Police were called to assist with the search for a runaway three-year-old. The child was found and returned to her parents.

Friday — Police took a complaint about a subject’s driving ability.

Sunday — Police took a report of phone harassment that is under investigation.
