Aug. 28 — A trespass complaint in Hillsboro Heights, child welfare concern in the 300 block of W. 3rd St., and identity theft complaint in the 200 block of S. Adams St. were investigated.

Aug. 29 — A report of someone slumped over the steering wheel of a car parked in the 100 block of W. Grand St. was investigated; the person was sleeping. A report of a transient person slumbering on a bench in the 100 block of W. Grand St. was investigated. A dog at large in the 100 block of S. Wilson St. was investigated.

Aug. 31 — A minor accident in which a vehicle hit a gas meter and in the 300 block of N. Washington St. was investigated; no report was required. A report of a pharmaceutical prescription, dog at large at Hillsboro Elementary School, and a 911 disconnect in the 700 block of S. Ash St. were investigated.

Friday — A harassment complaint in the industrial park and a report of a lost elderly woman walking in the 500 block of S. Main St. were investigated.

Aug. 29 — A dog owner was issued a citation after their dog allegedly bit a person in the 300 block of S. Coble St.

Aug. 30 — A suspicious person in the 200 block of E. Main St. was investigated. A vehicle parked in the 400 block of N. Roosevelt St. was discovered to have a stolen license plate on it; no owner was located and the vehicle was towed. A civil issue involving a property exchange in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. was investigated.

Aug. 31 — Officers assisted county sheriff’s deputies and Hillsboro officers in a high-speed chase on US-56. Two no-injury accidents, and a report of trespassing at Kellison and Cedar Sts. were investigated.

Thursday — A report of a suspicious object found in the 600 block of S. Freeborn St. was investigated. Warnings for parking in a prohibited area in a school zone and a J-turn in the 400 block of E. Main St. were issued. A dog at large in the 800 block of Hudson St. was investigated.

Saturday — A report of suspicious activity in the 1000 block of Commercial St. was investigated. An out-of-control juvenile at Oasis was investigated.

Sunday — A report of a man walking in nothing but a green plastic bag in the 500 block of N. Freeborn St. was investigated; the man was located and transported to St. Luke Hospital for evaluation. A citation for speeding near US-56/US-77 junction was issued. A report of a stolen wallet was investigated; wallet was located and a criminal investigation is underway. Officers assisted sheriff’s deputies with a possible DUI at the US-56/US-77 junction and a physical disturbance on Fisherman Ln. at the county lake.

Aug. 30 — Police received found property that has since been returned to its owners.

Friday — Officers worked a non-injury accident in the 200 block of N. Walnut St.

Saturday — Police took a report of theft. It remains under investigation.

Sunday — Police discovered three minors allegedly under the influence of alcohol. One was cited at home and an ambulance was called for a health check as a precaution. The other two were cited by a deputy sheriff.
