To the editor:

A $6,000 pay raise? Tell that to a self-employed businessman!  Maybe I deserve a raise because my neighbor makes more than me!

How have we allowed this to happen to us? Are not these people elected by us, are they not accountable to us?

What authority do the commissioners have? Are they not also accountable to us? Are they overworked protecting our right to self-responsibility? Government’s role is to protect our liberty, not to take it away.

What can government do except at the expense of the people who elected them? How can we expect to prosper?

Show me any government at any level that benefits its people without taking it from the people it benefits. Is that a benefit? That’s robbery. That’s enslavement. How deceitful!
